As a spiritual entrepreneur: how’s your relationship with the Universe? Most of us tend to treat the Universe very gently, perhaps even timidly.
But there is at least one circumstance where being gentle doesn’t serve us.
Sometimes we should get tough with the Universe.
When we ask that our desires be fulfilled, we have the right – and even the obligation to ourselves – to clearly demand that which we have decided we want, deserve, and are ready to receive.
This doesn’t mean we’re angry, self-aggrandizing, or disrespectful toward the Universe.
It only means we know that, as spiritual beings who share our essence with the spirit that created us, we have the right to expect our needs be met abundantly.
It is right to demand what we know in our hearts we are worthy of receiving.
Authentic worthiness doesn’t come from our egos. It comes from our heart’s understanding that spirit created us from love. That spirit wants us to have everything we want for ourselves – and more – because we and it are one, and this is a loving and abundant Universe.
Not only do we have the right to demand the manifestation of our desires, we also have the right to expect prompt signs we’ve been heard and relatively fast delivery on our requests – as long as we are willing to manage our thoughts and emotions in a positive way that aligns our demands with the pure positive energy of the Universe.
If we’re hesitant about asking for what we really want, our vibration gets watered down or tinged with slightly negative emotions. We start to worry that we’re asking too much or being too proud. We can come across as hopeful, wishful and perhaps a bit scattered – rather than as focused beings confidently knowing we deserve to have our needs met.
Making demands is not about being self-centered or falsely proud.
It’s only about fully accepting our right to ask firmly for what we want and to believe the Universe will deliver it. This doesn’t mean we’re arrogant ego-maniacs. On the contrary, we’re acting on faith and on our knowing that we are essential to the universe.
If we weren’t essential, we wouldn’t be here.
When we have genuine faith that spirit loves us and wants the best for us, we also have strength. Not ego strength, but spiritual strength.
Observe your thoughts and feelings when you communicate your desires to spirit. Are you mostly gentle, perhaps a bit hesitant, shy or even self-deprecating?
Or do you make a strong and clear demand, from a place of heart-felt love combined with confident expectation? Do you ask from a knowing you are loved and supported by the universe you are an integral part of? Does the tone of your request radiate faith?
Many of the people we admire most are those who have taken a clear, paradigm-busting stance from a place of faith in and high expectations of the Universe.
Some are globally famous such as Mahatma Gandhi or Joan of Arc. Others have quietly yet firmly expressed their individual paths to success and to inspiring others – J.K. Rowling, Oprah, Esther and Jerry Hicks, Louise Hay, Deepak Chopra, Martha Beck, Dr. Wayne Dyer and many thousands more.
Why not make a list of 10 world-changers you admire most?
Think about the challenges each of them had to face, and note the ways in which they chose to remain committed to their mission. Every one of them had to get tough with the Universe in order to reach an important goal. Each of them had to sustain creative action – for as long as it took to get results.
Yet none of them would be considered arrogant in any way whatsoever.
Now that you have your list: add your own name to it.
Make a decision about the most important thing you desire to create in your life right now. Write down your decision and your commitment to this goal – no matter how far away or difficult it might seem to you at this moment.
Tell the Universe – boldly, confidently and without apology – exactly what you expect. Don’t waffle or engage in self-deprecation. Express your commitment and your vision. Be tough and determined to move forward. Be willing to act on your dreams.
Once you demand what you want from the Universe, just do your best to keep your vibration positive. When you backslide, choose to return to the positive as best you can. Refuse to follow the voices of fear or “who do you think you are?”
Take at least one small step every day to move your dream forward. Look for positive signs, no matter how small, and allow them to help you cultivate faith. Acknowledge and celebrate even the smallest of victories.
For spiritual entrepreneurs toughness is never a superficial arrogance. Instead it’s a depth of determination and faith that, being unstoppable, must – by the Law of Attraction – create positive momentum and results.
