This new year you don’t have to resolve to eliminate all your negative thoughts… as long as you remember this:
Over the years you may have heard Abraham-Hicks tease us about our human tendency to worry that our negative thoughts may be harming us. Abe has lovingly accused us of fearfully chanting “cancel, cancel” whenever we catch ourselves focused on something less than sublime. We don’t want contrast to be creating more of what we don’t want… so we try to cancel out that negative thought.
However… because our energy around “cancel, cancel” is almost always fearful of attracting something unwanted, all we really accomplish when attempting to take back our negative thought is: we remain a match to more fear and more contrast.
Many of us have practiced this fear-based dance with contrast for many years now. Though our intent has been to overcome negativity, we have actually remained focused on where our thoughts and manifestations had gone “wrong.” Oops.
But now, in that brief but hopeful and festive time called the New Year, we can make a new beginning in the light, and you are about to learn exactly how to do it.
Thanks to the grace of the universe – and the freshly reborn energy of a new year – there’s a much easier way to handle contrast than fighting against our perfectly natural negative thoughts.
Instead of resisting the unwanted we are being called to welcome it.
As you may have noticed, lately the Abraham-Hicks message emphasizes flowing with and appreciating contrast, also known as “what I don’t want.”
Gently but steadily Abraham has upgraded our old concept of contrast as something wrong so that we can now let go of old tendencies to resist contrast and instead simply harmonize with this universal truth:
Contrast gives birth to the new desire that expands and enriches us
